Boyer, elected to office last fall, has resigned as the mayor of Springville, to be effective April 15, at the Monday evening meeting of the city coun-il. coun-il. His recent, appointment as president of the British Mission necessitated the resignation. It was pointed out this week that the city council has the power pow-er to appoint a new mayor, either from the council or someone outside out-side the council. An appointment from the council would necessitate two appointments. At the Monday evening meeting it was decided to order a preliminary prelimi-nary survey in the canyon for the Bartholomew water project in ah effort to eventually increase the culinary water supply to the city. Also, further discussion of the possibility of securing more culinary culi-nary water from Bert's Springs at the mouth of Hobble Creek canyon can-yon was taken up at the meeting and it was pointed out that, under un-der the direction of Leonard Wis-combe, Wis-combe, city engineer, a survey is being made of the springs. The water in the springs has been tested test-ed and found to be suitable for ulinary .purposes, it was stated. The newly-appointed city recreation recre-ation committee, composed of LaRell Johnson, chairman, Wil-ford Wil-ford Manwaring, secretary, met with the council to make recommendations recom-mendations in regard to recreation possibilities. |
