Show I'RL-PAIiE NOW FOR "BACK TO SCHOOL" DAY Next T ritlay, August 20, will be "Back To School Day in Springville and merchants and townspeople are looking forward to the occasion with considerable interesl and enthusiasm. Springville business houses are making a special effort lo have a complete stock of everything needed by the family fam-ily lor back 'to school days and for every day thereafter. It will afford the people of Springville an opportunity to see lor themselves just what Springville merchants have to offer. T oo often we fail to realize that we can get the same thing at home as is offered by out-of-town concerns, at the same or lower price. Every retail establishment in the city is making preparations prep-arations for a record number of visitors at the stores on the "Back To Sch ool day. And in addition to arranging their special stocks, are making olher arrangements for the accommodation accom-modation of the shoppers. The retail merchants committee of the Chamber of Commerce has arranged tohave free tickets ready in- the various stores to give visiting parents so that every child in Town may attend the picture show that afternoon, free of charge, while the parents look through the stores. All this is being done to encourage citizens to trade in their home town and as a means of getting them to visit the stores and see just what can be purchased locally. The show tickets are for children under 14 years. , - Another arrangement which is being made to accommodate accom-modate patrons is the late closing of the stores on the "Back To School day, giving those who get home from work at 5 p. m., an opportunity to join the shop-at-home activities. The stores will remain open tmtil the beginning of the miniature min-iature parade at 7:30 p. m. Plans are also being made to notify townspeople of the real bargains to be found in local stores by special advertisements advertise-ments in the Herald on Thursday and plans are to deliver the paper to every home in Springville and Mapleton. Not only will there be "Back To School" bargains and special values in clothing stores, but every establishment from grocery to garage, is looking forward to the celebration as offering a special opportunity for townspeople to see what they have. - It is to be hoped that the people of Springville appreciate appreci-ate the honest efforts of local merchants in putting on this special day and giving townspeople a special invitation to visit the stores in their own home town. Local merchants also invite patrons to compare prices during their visits and to investigate the quality of all merchandise mer-chandise oflered by Springville business houses. It might also be an interesting experiment to see just how many supposedly sup-posedly hard-to-get items are available now in Springville stores. |
