Show LOCAL LEGION IS REPRESENTED AT STATE CONVENTION Springville ia well represented at the state American Legion and Auxiliary convention being held in Ogden this week, with a large number of members from Post 28 and 46 and the Auxiliaries leaving for the convention city today. A program of entertainment and business events will begin at .10 a. m. in Egyptian theatre. Greetings to delegates will be expended ex-pended by Robert L. Shelby, department de-partment commander, and Mrs. Eva D. Coakley, department auxiliary aux-iliary president. The sessions Thursday at 2 pm. will include a number of speakers: J. Wallace West; state adjutant general and Utah selective service director, speaking, on the "New Peacetime Selective Service Program"; Pro-gram"; Thomas J., Fitzgerald, Denver, "Veterans in Business"; Earl T. Ross, state director, U. S. saving bonds division, treasury department, de-partment, "Bonds for Peace", and Ernest W. Crocker, vice president, Boys State, Inc., who will report on the recent session at Camp Williams. Memorial services at 7 p. m. at Weber college auditorium, directed direct-ed by the state auxiliary, will be highlighted by an address by Most Rev. Leo J. Steck, auxiliary bishop of the Salt Lake Catholic diocese, and a memorial pageant presented by the host auxiliary posts. |
