APPOINTS OFFICERS AND MEMBERSHIP GROUP Several items of interest were taken up by recently elected directors di-rectors of the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce when they met at their first regular session Monday evening. J. A. Miller, secretary for the past year, was reelected to the position and C. G. Salisbury was named treasurer. A membership committee was appointed, comprised of H. M. Weight, Maurice Anderson and Paul Thorn, and they were instructed in-structed to invite new members into the organization who are interested in-terested in the growth and progress pro-gress of the city. The group went on record as favoring the retention of funds derived from the tax on gasoline to be used for road improvement. They also supported a proposal that if it is desirable to raise the salary of teachers, it be done by a direct levy. Several other items in connection connec-tion with activities for the coming com-ing year were discussed. |
