Show WORD COMES OF LOCAL MAN BEING WOUNDED Shirley L. Thorpe, technician fifth grade in the U. S. Infantry, was wounded in action on Jan. 11, in Luxembourg, Germany, according accord-ing to word received by his parents par-ents from the War Department. The communication stated that the wounds were serious and details de-tails would follow. He went into the service in March, 1943, and left for overseas duty in July of 1944. He trained with the Field Artillery until just before going into action, when he was transferred into the Infantry. |
