POLICE RECORD ' SHOWS 150 ARRESTS IN '44 , Fines Collected In The City Court Total $3488.50 For Year The annual report of the city police for 1944 shows a total of 150 arrests made, with fines paid in .the city court totaling $2,488.50. During the year, fifty-four persons per-sons were arrested for public drunkenness; three for drunken driving; five for reckless driving; one for hit and run driving; 28 for speeding; three for petit larceny; two for disturbing the peace; one for destroying public property; two for resisting an officer; seven sev-en for miscellaneous misdemeanors. misdemean-ors. Other cases handled included, four for aggravated assault; one for rape; 13 for petty larceny; four for forgery and counterfeiting; five for stolen property; three for auto theft; 23 juveniles with no driver's license. The city police also emphasized the fact that traffic tickets will be issued to' individuals running red light or stop signs. Also, the police stated that no "U" turns are to be made at places other than intersections between Center Street and Fourth South.
