Show GUV Inc. Sends Out Invitations for Additional Plants Chairman Burton Adams of the New Plants and Industry Committee Commit-tee reported that severa hundred letters had gone out to industries 'throughout Ihe United States ur-viting ur-viting them to consider Utah Valley as a site for additional plants Enclosed with the letter was a copy of the brochure reviewing re-viewing opportunities for such expansion ex-pansion in Utah Valley. Mr Adams Ad-ams reported that this was to be the first of a series of mailings to these industrialists. He further fur-ther stated that progress was being be-ing made on the plant sites map which would assist those who are seeking plant sites to find the most desirable location. Henry Roberts reported that the Central Utah project Committee was keeping a very close watch on the developments in the state legislature in order to assure a Utah organization which would be encouraging to the developing of the Central Utah Project. He reported re-ported that real progress was being be-ing made in Washington with respect re-spect to the Echo Park and Split Mountain dams, which made the Central Utah Project look promising prom-ising at the present time. Signs and Advertising Committee Commit-tee reported that plans were underway under-way for construction of an all-scotch-light sign at the Mapleton entrance of Utah Valley, and that improvements were to be made on the sign at the point of the mountain. R. G. Gardner, acting chairman of the Agriculture Committee reported re-ported that progress was being made to inform residents of Utah Valley of the products that were manufactured or processed in the valley. He further more stated a survey was being made to determine deter-mine the dollar value of canned goods, bread and flour products imported into Utah Valley as compared to those produced and used in Utah Valley. He felt that this information would assist in determining the opportunity which local products might have in a local market if it could be devel- oped, thus enhancing the gen;-prosperity gen;-prosperity of the valley.
