Show Red Cross Quota Set At $3040, Hand Work Done & Springville's and Mapleton's quota for the Red Cross drive this year has been set at $3040, according to A. L. Thorpe, Red Cross chairman. The drive will get underway here immediately with the ward committee organization completed under direction of chairman, chair-man, Paul Lloyd. Mrs. Thelma Clark has been appointed ap-pointed in the Third ward district and Earl Fifield has been appointed appoint-ed in place of R. N. Griffith in the Seventh district. Mr. Thorpe reports also that considerable Red Cross work assigned as-signed to Springville is being-completed being-completed including the making of about a dozen pairs of pajamas pa-jamas by the Jaycee Wives and Home Culture clubs also the knitting knit-ting of sweaters which have been done by Mrs. Cleonda Miner, Mrs. Ross Horley and Mrs. Birdie Thorpe. First Aid There is still room for a number num-ber of local people who desire to take Red Cross First Aid lessons, Mr. Thorpe said. The lessons are held Thursdays at the Fire Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m., and are free to the general public. The lessons; will prove valuable to anyone and may be applied in any emergency or at other times, Mr. Thorpe reports. |
