All of these will report at tne West high school. "It will thus be seen thaf the line between be-tween the junior high school and the senior se-nior high school is drawn between the ninth and tenth grades. This line of demarcation, which has alwavg existed theoretically, will this year be put into practice everywhere. However. those ninth grade pupils at the East or West high schools will be permitted to oartiei-pa'c oartiei-pa'c in mc-t of the senior high school ac- livities and privileges as formerly includ-j includ-j ing membership in the student body as-. as-. sociations. These ninth grade pupils may become members of either the junior high or the senior hifih athletic teams, but no pupil may represent both the junior high school and l the senior high school in any athletic contest in the same year. Courses Offered. "The West high school, between Second and Third West and First and Second North streets, offers all thc distinctive courses heretofore given, except the classical, classi-cal, namely, scientific, English, normal preparatory, domestic science, mechanic ariri and commercial. The last three courses are given at this school exclusively. exclusive-ly. The plant is fitted with the late.st improvements in the way of buildings, apparatus and internal arrangemeint for carrying on admirably instruction in these lines, it is deemed inadvisable, for the present at least, to duplicate the expensive ex-pensive equipment necessary for the industrial in-dustrial and prevocational courses at all high school centers. Those, therefore, whose purpose is to specialize in these courses should register at the west side school, irrespective of residential location. "At the East high, between Twelfth and Thirteenth East and Eight and Ninth South streets, are given the classical, scientific, English and normal preparatory prepara-tory courses. Thc nature and scope of the instruction in these courses, which are common to the two schools, are the same, since each school uses the same textbooks and the studies in each are under un-der the same department heads. Fees Required. "Student activities this year under the direction of the student body associations of the two schools will take on new life. Thc fee -for membership in either association asso-ciation will bo $2. SO a little higher than formerly, but much lower than In anv other high school in the state.
