Show MACK SAYS PERRY HAS BEEN NAUGHTY PT. LOUTS, Aug. 23. Scott Perry probably prob-ably has closed his career with the Athletics. Ath-letics. Manager Mack announced that Perry had been indefinitely suspended for breaking training rules with the club. "I did not suspend Perry to prevent another Mays episode," commented Mack. "I suspended Perry to retain discipline in my club. Perry haa abused 1 the freedom I gave him ali season. I overlooked over-looked several slips in the early part of the ceason, believing he would see his mistake. But he did not, and there was but one thing for me to do, and that was to suspend him. I presume clubs J fighting for the pennant will flood me with offers. Whether I will accept any offer I do not care to say at present." According to Information received last night from a reliable source, Perry has pone to Franklin, Pa., where he will pitch for the independent club of that town. j |
