The team has never before been blessed with a leader of Pat's ability and industry, and the fans recognize his worth and are for him to a man. The head of the team has a number of good points, but the greatest and most valuable is his entire en-tire and absolute devotion to the interests in-terests of the club. Moran has no outside distractions to take his mind off his work. His whole thought is for baseball, and he gives himself freely to the task of building up a winner. He thinks, plans and studies with the sole end in view of winning more games of ball. His mind is attuned to the baseball key and works harmoniously to one end. On and off the field ho is a baseball manager. He is industry personified along his chosen line. Pat is not one of thoso who beliove in throwing away the bat and ball as soon as the game is over for the day, and turning to some other pursuit. Talks Ball In Sleep. It is probable that he talks baseball in his sleep. At any rate, he often lies awakio to think out plans for the I next day and figure on some scheme ' for distracting and annoying the enemy. The fans like Pat because they see him out on the coaching lines ievery inning, working and hustling for the club. But this is only part of his day 's work. After the game he usually lias a few- words to say to the boys in commendation of their good plavs or correction for their mistakes. u the .evening he is plotting and planning plan-ning for the next day.
