The Bullion Exploration company has placed orders for three powerful pumps and an electric hoist preliminary to do-wateriug do-wateriug the 1500-foot Bullion shaft, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Tho Bullion produced much rich ore in tho early days of the Grass Valley district, but has lain idle many years. ' Ore running up to $.i0 a ton was exposed ex-posed in the old workings when mining min-ing ceased, with the vein ranging from one to four feet wide. The property comprises 130 acres and was recently acquired by a syndicate of San Fran-ciseo? Fran-ciseo? Nevada and local men. John Mul-roy Mul-roy is president; C. K. Chapman, secretary, sec-retary, and George A. Mainnart, manager. man-ager. E. J. de Sabla of San Francisco, is heavily interested. Kcjuvcnation of the Kenosha mine, about five miles west of Grass Valley, has begun. The owning company has been reorganized under the name of Alcalde Gold Mines company, with Lloyd Boot in charge of operations. Developed De-veloped to an approximate depth of 600 feet, the Kenosha has produced considerable consid-erable bonanza ore, much of the quartz showing free gold m profusion. The shaft is to be carried to a depth of 1000 feet, and a scries of drifts and crosscuts extended to the main, vein system. A large pump has been leased from tho Brunswick -Mining company and unwatoring of the shaft begun. The Kenosha is equipped with a small but efficient mine plant. A new lodge of free-milling ore has been intersected in the 500-foot west crosscut of the Golden Center mine, controlled by Sacramento and San Francisco Fran-cisco investors. The vein was encountered encoun-tered in new ground at a considerable distance from the main scene of developments, de-velopments, and is apparently developing develop-ing into a large and rich ore body. Details De-tails are withheld pending more comprehensive compre-hensive developments. A narrow shoot of rich ore has been uncovered on the 500-foot workings of the Allison Eanch mine, according to reports reaching Grass A'alley. The seam is only a few inches wide and is being sought at a higher point in the hope it may broaden out. Several small leasing companies continue to produce high-grade ore in small quantities. Opening of promising ground at two points is progressing, but it is stated that developments in the mine have been disappointing to the management. |
