Special to The Tribune. SAN FRANCISCO, July 13. The .Salt Lake baseball club' left town today with four games of the seven played with Oakland safely concealed in their bat bag. They won both games of today's double card. In the forenoon at Oakland the Bees were successful, 3 to 1, and in the afternoon, on this side of the bay. they repeated, 8 to 2. In the forenoon affair Buzz Arlett was accorded some ragged support, and Ralph Stroud was exceedingly good in the pinches. An instance of Stroud's cleverness was given 'in the fourth, when, with the bases full and none out, Stroud fanned two and another popped. In the afternoon Bill Bumler busted out a home run in the very first inning, in-ning, scoring two runners ahead of him. The three proved enough tallies to win. Bill draws a safety razor and a now hat for his brilliant effort? Consequently Conse-quently he will havo a clean shave and a bright new bonnet when he arrives at Salt Lake Tuesday. Oaks Outstay Welcome. The Oaks have been here four weeks and they have laid up no ice for futuro reference. They will hit the road Tuesday Tues-day morning for Sacramento. The Oaks have begun to think that two games in one day are a hoodoo to them, for they apparently are unable to got away with even ono of them. The week that Sacramento was here, that club won only four games and they won two of them on the Fourth of July and the other two on the Sunday that followed. Stroud Stops 'Em. Ralph Stroud had the Oaks stopped in the morning. They had the bases full in the fourth inning with none out, but Stroud put. Murphy down on strikes, got rid of Bonne on a pop-up find ended the inning by striking out Stumpf . One whole-hearted belt hy Bill Eutn-. Eutn-. ler in the first inning defeated the Oaks this afternoon. The game had to go nine innings because the rules provide pro-vide for that number but the game was over in that first inning after, big Bill took a toe hold in the costly soil of Recreation park and clouted the ball into the left field bleachers, scoring scor-ing two men ahead of him. Kremer Hit Hard. Kremer started to pitch and he walked Maggert to start the-first inning; in-ning; Krug bunted him to second and he went to third on Mulvey's infield hit. All hands walked home when Rum-ler Rum-ler rammed his hbmcr. Kremer got hold or himself and pitched good ball after that until the seventh inning when five hits and ' Stumpf 's error gave the salty boys five more runs. Kremer was lifted after af-ter that round to let Weaver finish, and although the former cub walked three men, he did not allow a score. Little Al Gould had wonderful control con-trol of the ball, for he did not issue a pass, and in every emergency ho was the boss. Rowdy Elliott scored the' only two runs made by the Oaks. He got a double in the third and came home on an error by Krug and a long fly to left. He counted again in the eighth on his single and hits by Lane and "Wares. Forenoon game at Oakland.' SALT LAKE.
