Show Raynham Hop-off Deferred. By Universal Service. ST. JOHN'S. N. F.,Tu!y 13. Radiator trouble and the breaking of a tire on the u nder-carriage of the Chimera caused a postponement until tomorrow of the proposed transatlantic flight on the Mar-tinsyde Mar-tinsyde plane. Captain Raynham and his navigator, Conrad H. Biddlecombe. were grea tly disappointed at their inabUity to get under way today, as this day had been selected by Raynham several wreeks ago, while the rebuilding of the illfated Rayn-more Rayn-more was still under way. Some persons per-sons hinted today that the combination 1 of the date, the thirteenth, and the new name, Chimera, was too much of a handicap han-dicap to overcome. Raynham, however, is confident that he will be able to get away tomorrow j on the jump to England. By landing in Lngland he hopes to outdo the feat of Captain Alcock with the Vickers. |
