Machine Disappears After Running Dawn Man on j Murray Road. ; August Poug'er. 45 years o ae. the father of six children, was last nish: rui down and killed almost instantly by an unidentified automobile, which speeded up when the accident occurred and disappeared disap-peared into the darkness. The accident occurred at the corner of Forty-fifth South and State streets at 11:30 o'clock Uust night. The tragedy was reported to Night Marshal Hyrurn Larson of Murray b Paul YV. Hoys walking down Stai-street Stai-street some distance from where Pougler was killed, saw the automobile knock him from the bicycle which he was riding to his home. They were, however, too far distant to get a description of the machine ma-chine or to compel it to stop. They told the marshal that the death car was going down S-tate at a rapid rate when it hit Pougler, but that when the driver saw what had happened In stepped full on the throttle and turned the machine east on Forty-fif th South street at a rapid rate of speed. Sam Whittle, Murray night marshal, made an investigation, hut cuuld find no trace of the missing car nor clues which might lead to its Identification. Pougler was riding -home from Ms work at the American Smelting & Refining company's plant at Murray. He is survived sur-vived by his widow and six children. His home is near Forty-second South and First West streets, where he had lived for some time. Marshal Larson last night said that henceforth automohilists violating speed or traffic regulations will be dealt with to the limit of the law.
