Ban Johnson, president of the American leaguo, lj admitted today on the witness stand 1 before referee George J. Gillespie, that he was Interested in the Boston Bos-ton American league club, while that club was owned from 1911 to 1914 by James McAlcer and Robert McRoy. The latter, now deceased, was Johnson's personal secretary. sec-retary. The testimony was given at a hearing before trial of the New Yoik club's suit to restrain Johnson permanently from in-lerfcrlns in-lerfcrlns with the use of Pitcher Carl Mays, recently purchased from Boston. C. Dunn In 1915. McRoy ' held that office at the time of his death. I Johnson testified here last week that he attended stockholders' meetings of the I Cleveland club to represent the McRoy interests.
