Tlie officers of the Commercial club are: President, R. R. Gamble; vice president, H. .F. lit. ker; secretary and treasurer, C. C. Mat hews: board of governors. J. H. Valsii, K. . Chaiey. P. A. Simon, V. S. jVndrus, Cecil ii. tUirkham of Hawthorne, F- M. Andrews of L-uninpr, H. R. Gamble, B. V. linker and iC. C. Mathews, and the officers of the bureau of mines are, chairman, chair-man, P. A. ' Simon; treasurer, B. W. Zachau; secretary, J. K. Greenan. The purpose of the bureau of mines is to use all proper means to aid and encourage en-courage every legitimate minlns proposi-l!nn, proposi-l!nn, to stimulate prospecting, and, more than all else, to discourage the promiscuous! promiscu-ous! floating of wildcat mining companies, which have in certain districts done so much to discrust t!ic investing- public. Anion fir other activities, tlie bureau of mines proposes to furnish to the press of the state and the country full information informa-tion as to tho development of existing mines and the discovery of new ones, together to-gether with other matters pertinent to the mining- interests. AM such information will be carefully verified by tho bureau officials before belntr sent out, and may be thoroughly relied upon. The Commercial club has fitted up headquarters head-quarters in a prominent location where adequate facilities for recreation, conferences confer-ences nnd correspondence are at the disposal dis-posal of visitors. There is also a fine displav of all tlie characteristic ores of the district, including gold, silver, copper, cop-per, lead, quicksilver tungsten, barium, etc. i C. C. Mathews, the secretary of the Commercial club, is constantly in attendance attend-ance at the rooms and possesses a wealth of information on all subjects connected with Mina and the various mines ot" the Simon district.
