STATE FIB ETJpif Varied Program of Events Is Entertaining Dele-gates Dele-gates to Convention. Special to The Tribune. ' SANDY, Aug. 19. The annual convention con-vention of the State Firemen's association, associa-tion, which was opened here this morning, morn-ing, got off to a flying start and is in full swing. Tho delegates were warmly welcomed by Mayor W. W. Wilson and Fire Chief Robert Larson, and fitting responses were made by President E. G. Locke and Reuben Simpson, the latter being the oldest fireman in point of continuous con-tinuous service in the state. The features of today's sessions were the report of the president, an address by Rulon S. Wells, state Insurance commissioner, com-missioner, and a big Informal banquet at 6 o'clock this evening. At tomorrow's session many reports will be submitted and addresses will be made by W. M. Knerr of Salt Lake, C. W. Booth of Spanish Fork, William Doxey of Bountiful and G. A. Graves of Ogden, on subjects of interest to the fire-fighters. The annual election of officers also will take place and the city at which the 1020 convention will be held is to be determined. de-termined. Thursday will be the big play day of the delegates and the people of Sandy and Mldvale, and an interesting program has been arranged. At 10 o'clock in the forenoon a street parade will be given, at the conclusion of which the delegates and their friends will repair to Wilson park. The program at the park will be as follows: Selection by the band; song, Miss Gunhlll Larson; remarks, Bishop A. J. Butler; reading, Miss Jsle Bradbury; music, quartet; remarks, W. H.
