Show MRS. M. A. R. HAYES SUCCUMBS AT HOME jUary Ann Riser Hayes, 72 years of age, who crossed the plains from Nauvoo, 111., her birthplace, in the second L.. D. S. company of the year 1S4T, died at the family residence. ' !258 West Third North street, last night, from ailments incident to old ase. Mrs. Hayes was 3 years of age when she accompanied her parents, the late George C. and Christiana Riser, from Nauvoo, to Salt Lake. The company in which she came to Utah followed that led bv UriRham TounR. 'Since arriving here in the fall of the year 1S47. Mrs. Hayes has resided in Salt Lake. She was the possessor of a "pioneer medal," given on the fiftieth anniversnry of their arrival ar-rival to those who arrived, n Utah during dur-ing the vear 1S47. Those who survive are five daughters-Mrs. daughters-Mrs. J. W. Arnup, Mrs. E. J. Brain, Mrs. T. G. Poxey, Mrs. W. S. Brewster, Miss Gertrude Hayes; her husband, William Hayes; one son, William Hayes, Jr., and seventeen grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will he held Sunday Sun-day at 2 p. m. in the Twenty-second ward chapel. Interment will be in City cemetery. |
