Show BIG IP SHIPMENT ARRIVES II CHI Another Car of Comfort Autos In, Despite Big Shortage. A number of prominent Salt Lake people were delighted with the good news that a carload of Hupmobiles had been received this week by the Hyland Motor company, and that they are now on display at the handsome showrooms of the company, at 57 South State street. In view of the acute shortage of passenger cars of all types, due to war requirements for all materials, Manager Willard Richards feels that his company is extremely fortunate. However, he states that it is uncertain when another shipment will be sent to Salt Iake and that the Hupp factory is away behind on all orders. The shortage in this popular make of cars extends to every type manufactured at the three big plants of the Hupp Motor Car corporation, Including the handsome new sedans and coupes, both of which arc being turned out In very limited quantities. With the heavy demand from all parts of the state for the popular five-passenger Hupp car, and with the increasing shortage short-age and almost certain further advance in Price; Manager Richards states that there will never be a more favorable time to purchase a car than right now, and fhat the present stock will be sold in the order or-der of application. In other words it will be a case of "first come, first served," as there are not nearly enough cars on hand to even begin to fill the state-wide orders. or-ders. Those who know of the unusually easy ruling features of this low-swung car, whose smooth-running engine averages more than 23 miles to the gallon of gasoline, gaso-line, will appreciate the good fortune of the few lucky buvers who are among the first to call at the Hyland Motor salesrooms this week. As announced last week In the Saturday Evening Post, the Hupp company is about to place ,cn the market an entirelv new product "tho Hupmobilo Industrial Y a gen." This new "wagon" is a general utility delivery wagon, mounted on a series "R" chassis. The body will be so designed that it fan bo used as a straight box; a box filled with flare sides; stake body; or a body with seats, comparable to the old "democrat" wagon or modem "station" "sta-tion" wagon for use as a combination commercial and passenger vehicle. The top will be of the canopy tvpe, easily and quickly demountable. Deliveries will be made earlv in September Sep-tember and prices will be announced later.
