Show FIND 25 WOUNDED OR DEAD GERMANS IN LITTLE CHURCH WITH THE AMERICAN ARMY ON THE AISNE -MARNE FRONT, Aug. 3. (By the Associated" Press) When the FVench came to Villeneuve Wednesday they found twenty-five woundedvor dead Germans In cots in the village church. Several of these apparently had died of , starvation, so hurried was the German retreat. re-treat. The Germans had been using the church as a hospital, with sixty beds, all German-made. In another village the Germans had the church filled with mattresses taken from the homes of the people. There were great piles of brass and copper and church vestments, all boxedt ready for shipment to Germany. The brass and copper apparently had been assembled from other villages and included kitchen utensils, faucets and other articles. |
