MTsliLTY ARRIVES OVERSEAS Salt Lake Engineer Ready for Any Task to Help Defeat Kaiserism. Word has reached Salt Lake that Captain Cap-tain C. J. McXulty of the engineers reserve re-serve corps is in France. Captain 5ic-Nulty, 5ic-Nulty, who is widely known in political and mechanical circles in the city, took the examination for a commission in the engineers reserve corps about two months ago, basing his qualifications largely on his ability as a master mechanic. j He applied for a first lieutenancy, but was awarded a captain's rank instead. Not long afterwards he received orders to report for foreign service at a port of armv debarkation, and he is now overseas' over-seas' He writes he is ready for any task that will help defeat kaiserism. Captain McNulty has had wide experience experi-ence in machine shops, particularly in railroad work. When the Salt Lake &. Ogden railroad was operated by steam he was master mechanic for that company. For a while also he was mechanic for Salt Lake county, having charge of its repair work, and later he took a similar position with the state of Utah, working in the repair shop at the capitol. He came to Utah from the Baldwin locomotive locomo-tive works, and carried high recommendations recommen-dations from that concern. |
