Imports of unrefined metal, the largest since June, 191.7, were 42,519,271 pounds, against 19.543.S54 pounds in July, and only 13,801,332 pounds in June, the latter being a low record for a long period. Copper In ore. concentrates and matte amounted to 18,546,115 in August, compared com-pared with i2,888,435 pounds in the preceding pre-ceding month. Refined and secondary imports made an extraordinary total ot 11,987.981 pounds, against 5.515,036 pounds in July. , Exports of refined metal amounted to only 45,876,440 pounds, which was less than for a period of years, and compares with 64,573,910 pounds in July.
