Show OGOEN COMMISSION HEARS UQUOH PROBE Special Session Held to Hear Report of City Attorney At-torney Reeder. OGDEN, Nov. 9. TJic board of city commissioners met thla morning in .special hcPHlon at the request of Mayor T. S. Browning, who received a report from Oly Attorney W. H. Kceder, Jr.. upon tlui investlyation made in the ease of Sergeant J. V. Kelllher, charged with Violation of the fituto liquor law. The report of the city attorney comprised com-prised Iwo affidavits which had been obtained ob-tained from Hen Cohen and Rert Herrlck. The latter told of seeing Cohen turn the suitcase containing twenty-one pints of liluor over to Kelllher at the depot and him taking it homo. Tho Cohen affidavit told of the agreement of Kelllher to help Cohen ' receive the liquor at the Union depot and take It to Cohen's house and I Kelllher was to receive $25 for the service. ser-vice. Late today it developed that last nlghl 1 Cohen was called to the police station by Captain Mohlman and told to sign an affidavit af-fidavit repudiating tho one he signed against. Kolllher. This Cohen said today lie signed. Tonight it was learned that Cohen had made another affidavit and gave it to his attorney in which he told of the "force" used on him to sign the affidavit at the police station last night. |
