Show DIXIE IS SHAPING NEW DRILLING WORK Company's Next Well to Be Put Down for Tapping Big Pool. The drilling program of the Dixie Oil company has been virtually decided upon, according to a statement made by L. G. Bradley, president of the company. "Our next few wells," said Mr. Bradley, Brad-ley, "will be located with a view to' trying try-ing to tap a big pool of oil which the geologists now believe exists at some point between our No. 1 well and what we call the Downey well. Both of these wells are good producers and absolutely prove that the ground between them is oil bearing. They are about a mile apart, and we have cbncluded that they are each on the outskirts of the pool and that a line of wells drilled between these two will tap an extra heavy flow at some ooint. "I expect to go to the field next week, and immediately upon my arrival there the crew will start to move the big Star rig to a point about 500 or 600 feet west of our present wells and toward the Downey well. As soon as a little more work is completed on No. 3. the Sparta will be moved to a point still west of the big Star, and it is my present plan to have both the rigs in active drilling within the next two weeks." |
