Show HOW TRUCK tillS HEM. DEALER One of the businesses most benefited by the advent of the motor truck into the field of transportation is the coal business, according to Salesmanager Edmonds Ed-monds of the Browning Automobile company, com-pany, local distributors of the Master line of trucks. "Analyze the coal business," says Edmonds, "and 3rou cau lay your finger fin-ger on its most vital element. The problem of the coal man is transportation. transporta-tion. He does three things: he buys, stores and delivers coal. Of these, the third is relatively the most important it is the place where he can cut cost of operation, build up a reputation on confidence, dependability, good business methods or tho reverse. Figure it from any angle and it will be readily seen that the big factor on which a coal man makes or loses money is just one thing transportation. "The advent ofithe motor truek was a godsend to the coal business. In the old days, and not so very far back, either, draught horses died like flies in summer heat, and stalled in winter snows. Coal dealers turned to motor deliveries for relief. Truck makers steadily improved their product. Today there are many makers of good trucks, and with their thorough testing out in everyday service there are few men in the coal business who do not use motor trucks or who are not planning to use them. There is no question as to the desirability of motor trucks in the coal business. The only question is, which truck? ' ' The truck to buy is the truck that will serve you best. Absolute dependability depend-ability is the first thing to look for. You can't afford to buy a truck that runs now and then; your trucks have to run every day. The next thing to make sure of is the stamina of the truck. Has it the extra strength and oversized parts and materials indefinitely indefinite-ly to continue giving everyday service? Will it stand up under overloads and abuse? Is it doing this for other coal dealers"? Doing it economically? Are the makers practical truck men? Last, what is the comparative price? Here, then, is your sound basis for selecting a truck dependability, over-size, performance per-formance and price." |
