Washington u-,1-versity eleven today defeated Drake university uni-versity of Des Moines, 26 to 0, in its first Missouri Valley conference game of the season. The game was played behind locked gates, only members of the students' stu-dents' army training corps being admitted, admit-ted, because of the Influenza ban, and until un-til the last quarter the game was scoreless. score-less. Both teams did expert blocking, and until the final period the ball equally occupied oc-cupied the territory of both contenders. Shortly after the fourth quarter opened, Griesedieck crossed the line, going through the right guard for twenty yards, and Winkleman kicked goal. Potthppp made the second touchdown, carrying the ball fifteen yards, followed by another goal kick. Grlesedieck's second touchdown touch-down was made on a twenty-eight-yard pass from Simpson, and Lippert made the fourth, carrying. the ball IS yards.
