Walter forc-Credie, forc-Credie, carrying in his pocket a sheaf of contracts, which give him all right, title and interest In the hasebaJl craft of a fine collection of candidates, including , Bees, Ducks and eastern leaguers, arrived this morning from the south to superintend superin-tend his job of making ihe Suit Lake , baseball team for the season of 191$. j Leverenz and Orr are the only regu- i lars to report thus far. TJiere are eight , kida in the bunch who have reported to date. Karl Kheely, who has been coaxing apples trees to blossom up at Spokane for the past six mortths, has notified the management that he is on his way, and Paddy Siglin is also en route to Porterville. McCredie said nothing noth-ing on his arrival here, which would indicate in-dicate that the management is at all worried over the prospect of holdouts for the year. Although it is understood, the question of salary is still at issue with several of the men of last year's team. Ieverenz was listed with those who are not quite satisfied with their contracts, but Walter is here, which would appear to indicate that his dissatisfaction is not to be tti ken sei iousJy. Work was completed today orr the base- ball diamond at the Athletic park, and, McCredie indicated his entire s;i tisf action ac-tion with the playing accommodations after visiting the park. It is doubtful if work can be started seriously before the last of the week. The first exhibition game is that slated I for Sunday with the I'ortervill amateurs. The weather was very disagreeable today, to-day, with a chilly rain, and the forecast is for occasional showers tomorrow. |
