Show GENTLEMEN AGREE, AND THEN FORGET IT MADTHON, Wis., March 5. A gentleman's gentle-man's agreement by members of the state assembly to shun technicality and proceed pro-ceed to vote on the resolution condemning condemn-ing United States Senator Robert M. Ia Fohette at 7 o'clock went to smash in the first half hour of tonight's session. Each side blamed the other. The break came when the speaker ruled that forty minutes of debate was nil that could be allowed. At this Assemblyman Kvjuc, Ia Follette floor leader, said that if "gag law" were to be enforced he ! would not be bound by tho agreement to ! vote, nor would he cast his ballot. j The antl-la Follette forces lacked two j votes of enough to impose their pro- gramme on the assembly. j |
