The question of having the Bamberger electric trains stop at Thirty-first street and Lincoln avenue was discussed at a meeting this afternoon after-noon in the office of the mayor, but no decision was reached. Those attending the conference were Mayor T. S. Browning Brown-ing and City Attorney W. H. Reeder, Jr., for the city, and Julian Bamberger and James Devine, representing the railroad. rail-road. ) The request to have the trains stop at the street intersection was presented in a petition to the commissioners by residents of South Ogden. They say that by reason of the company failing to stop trains there it is necessary for them to ride to the interurban terminal and then travel back over the same street to their homes. At the conclusion of today's conference Mayor Browning said no agreement had been reached, but a communication would be sent to the railroad company by the commissioners. He did not say what the nature of the communication would be. The result of the conference and recommendations recom-mendations probably will be submitted by the mayor to the board of commissioners commis-sioners Monday night. |
