Fownes, father and son, will meet here tomorrow in the finals of the annual spring golf tournament. tourna-ment. Both are from Pittsburg. The elder Fownes defeated Leslie Deane Pierce of Rochester, Vt. today, four and three, in the semi-finals, while Charles C. Fownes had a closer match to win from Franklin Gates of Pinehurst. The match lasted until Fowns sank a long putt for a two at the seventeenth hole and won, 3 and 1.
