Show Coffee Market. NEW YORK. March 8. The market for coffee futures was quiet again today with fluctuations irregular. There was a little buying from trade sources, supposed sup-posed to undo hedges against a moderate business in the spot department,, but the demand appeared to be supplied bv further fur-ther scattering liquidation. Prices opened at a decline of 2 to 3 points and the market mar-ket closed net 1 point lower to 3 points higher. May held around 8.55c during the entire day, while December fluctuated between 8.73c and S.7Sc. March 8 44c May. 8.54c; July, 8.63c; September s'67c: October, S.70c; December. 8.77c Spot, firm; Rio 7s, 8c; Santos 4s. 10'c. Brazilian shippers are reported willing- or anxious to sell and offering attractive prices f. o. b. primary market but owing to the scarcity of tonnage no fresh cost and freight offers were noted during the day. The official cables wera not received. |
