Show CITY POLICE EW GAME F1IC Auditorium Filled With Protectors of Public Safety, Saf-ety, Wives, Sweethearts. Salt La-ke's "finest" was out in bloom last night, the occasion being the seventh sev-enth annual dance of the Police Mutual Mu-tual Aid association. ' Auditorium hall was filled to capacity. Over 300 couples were present. The big ho.ll was handsomely decorated in winter-tinged foliage, with a grand display j of Old Glory in all places of vantage around the room and with numerous bars of national colors interwoven in a most artistic manner. During the progress of the dance many city officials looked in on the scene of frolic. Mayor W. Mont Ferry being one of the first to arrive. Commissioner Kaxl A. Scheid was among the number and became one of the most ardent dancers of the evening. Chief J. Parley White did the honors as chairman of the reception re-ception committee. Every member of the force who could be spared from the field of duty was there, many in their regulation regalia, others with conventional conven-tional attire of the ballroom. The occasion oc-casion was one for the wives and sweethearts sweet-hearts of the men who protect the homes and business places of the city to long remember. Thoy were there in almost equal number to the policemen themselves. A pleasing feature of the dance was the vocal efforts of the Ariel quartette, four selections being sung in accompaniment accompani-ment to the swelling tones of a waltz or two-step. Tho rendition of the "moonlight" fox trot was enthusiastically enthusiasti-cally received by the big crowd. The success of the ball was due largely large-ly to the arrangement committee, composed com-posed of Captain R- M. Beckstead, Sergeant Ser-geant Dan Grundvig and Detective W. S. Brown. This trio worked incessantly for the success of the ball and found the fruition of its labors in tho excellent affair af-fair staged last night.
