Show Hi! RALLIES 10 Howe and Oren Also Battle to No Decision; Fast Bouts Throughout. Both of the main events at the Manhattan Man-hattan club last night ended in draws. In the first round of the Schuman-Youns bout it looked as if Bull Young was about to be knocked out, but the way In which the coast artilleryman came back in the : following five rdkjnds earned him a draw. Schuman was not accustomed to the manner man-ner in which Bull Young: staged his comebacks, come-backs, and was surprised after the second round, although he had such a long lead in the first round that Bull Young couid not overcome it. Young became ratiier rough during the closing rounds of the battle, with the result that Referee ! Hardy Downing had to warn him a num-' num-' ber of times. At the end of the fight Bull Young was going strong. It was the comeback staged by Young which gave him the draw, although Schuman Schu-man scored a partial knockdown in the second round. Young 'forced the fighting from the third round on, and would not let Schuman get set for a haymakor. Jess Oren tried to outbox Howe, but the soldier would not let him, not that Howe was cleverer than Oren, but because be-cause he forced the fighting and was willing to exchange punches any time Oren desired to trade wallops, with the result that Oren gave ground when Howe used bayonet tactics in close quarters. At the end of the sixth round the battle was declared a draw. Young Alvarado and Nick Boles, the latter a soldier at Fort Douglas, fought one of the fastest four-round bouts seen at the club in a number of weeks. The bout was declared a draw. Charley Midkiff and Did Davis of Og-den Og-den fought a four-round draw. The bat-: bat-: tie was not exciting to the fans, as the greater part of the work was done in tNe clinches. Ltavis, however, gave Midkiff one of the best fights he has had at the club this season. Chic Douglas of Fort Douglas defeated Art Newson ,of the war prison guard in a four-round bout. Newson looked like a winner in the first two rounds, but In the third and fourth rounds Johnson beat him, to the punch in almost every instance. in-stance.
