Show HEARS OF BROTHER'S DEATH IN BATTLE . Mrs. G. K.'Chettle Has Word of Kill-1 ing of British Soldier in One of Byng's Drives. Mrs. C. R. Chettle of 14:$ Blair avenue, has received a newspaper clipping from an English paper conveying the first news she had received of the death of her brother. Thomas M. Kirkland, who met his death in battle "somewhere in France.'' presumably during one of General Gen-eral Byns's drives in the Cainbai sector, lasr Peoember. The name appears in connection with others under the caption of "killed in action." ac-tion." giving his name and the regiment to which he belonged, and the date of its occurrence, December 1. Young Kirkland, Kirk-land, who was years of age. enlisted three years ago in the King's Royal Rifles.
