Show COMPETITION IS KEEN pCUIT Valentine and Murphy Drive Winning Horses in Three of Four Events. COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 27. Columbus eaid farewell today to the Grand Circuit races for 191S, when four class races were offered and every event went into split .heats before winners were declared. Perhaps the biggest hurt the talent received re-ceived was when Red Bon. an easy winner win-ner last Saturday, failed to show at all find finished outside the money. He sold for S100 to $50 for the field, and a hatfull of tickets were sold on him at this ratio. Hank Stout won the race with Moho, and Allerton Heir as other heat winners. Halderman was taken down from behind be-hind Allerton Heir in the fourth heat and C. A. Valentine substituted. He could not improve his position and Halderman again was permitted to drive in the fifth heat. The best time was 2:0S 1-4. Omonde won the 2:17 pace, after laying lay-ing up the first heat. It was his second victory of the week. The fastest time was 2:07 1-4. Petrex had no difficulty in landing the 2:18 trot, also her second victory of the meeting. The best -heat was run in 2:04 1-4. Favorite Baronwood, when four heats of the 2:13 pace had been raced, had but one. In semidarkness, in accordance with an agreement of all drivers, the fifth heat was paced, and Baronwood won it easily. Then the race was declared finished. Two of the heats were run in 2:05 1-4, the best time.
