Show BRITISH LEGATION IS RAISED TO EMBASSY WASHINGTON, Sept, 27. Elevation of the British legation at Rio de Janeiro to the rank of an embassy, in recognition of the growing political and commercial Importance of the relations between Brazil Bra-zil and Great Britain, was announced here today. The first British ambassador to Brazil will be Sir Ralph Paget, minister at Copenhagen. It also was announced that Thomas Beaument Hohler, formerly British charge at Mexico City and now second counsellor counsel-lor of the local embassy, has been promoted pro-moted to be minister to Uruguav. |
