Members of the Salt Lake Dental association as-sociation entertained last night at a dinner din-ner at the Country club in honor of Dt. and Mrs. E. C. Fair weather, who will leave next week for New- York to make their home. Dinner was served at small tables decorated dec-orated with flowers. Covers were laid for fifty-live. Dr. H. W. Davis, chairman of the committee com-mittee on arrangements, was toastmaster. Informal toasts were triven by the other members of the committee, Dr. A. C. Wherry and Dr. D. D. Stockman, and other oth-er associates of Dr. Falrweather in the dental association. Dinner was followed by dancing. A wedding announcement of interest in this city is that of Miss Maud Hanchett of Sevier, Utah, and Ira J. Hopkins of Kauosh, which took place in Baltimore, Md., on June 8. The marriage was kept secret until the bride, who has just returned re-turned to American Fork to teach school, surprised her friends by making1 the announcement. an-nouncement. Mrs. Hopkins will return to the east at an early date to join her husband, who U in the service of the government gov-ernment as a medical student at the George Washington university at Washington, Wash-ington, The bride is a former student at the University of Utah. '.Since completing- her course there she has taught in the public schools at American Fork. She Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Hanchett of Sevier, Utah. Mr. Hopkins Is a graduate of the Unt- j versity of Utah and is a member of the , Phi Delta Theta fraternity. While attending at-tending the local university he was promi-nent'in promi-nent'in student activities and was a member mem-ber of the university track team. Mrs. Parley dccles, formerly Hiss Ethel Newman, entertained at a luncheon yesterday yes-terday afternoon at her home, 1718 Blair avenue. The dining room was decorated with "white sweet peas and the music room was decorated with red snapdragons. Assisting in the dining room were Mrs. Andrew Eccles and Mrs. Ernest Putnam. The guests numbered twenty-five. Mrs. C. M. Beek will entertain at a matinee party this afternoon in honor of Miss Dorothy Cutler, a bride of next week.
