Frances Drake nnrt Margaret Drake of Salt Lake were life guests of Kenee Wright this week. Mrs. W. E. Kelley has returned from California. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Meading stopped over on their way from a visit to Nebraska Ne-braska to visit wiih their sons, W. Meading Mead-ing and F. Meading, who reside here. Mr. and Mrs. Meading returned to their home in Los Angeles the last of the week. Frank Eckblade has purchased a home in Salt Ijake and he and his family moved there today to reside. Mrs. F. L. Stuart entertained a party of fifteen guests at Saltair Friday in honor of the anniversary of her birthday. Miss Beatrice Andersen of Sandy, and Mrs. Al Larsen and children of Pioche, Nev., were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Andersen this week. Mrs. J. S. Powell was pleasantly surprised sur-prised at her home Thursday afternoon by a large party of friends. The event was in compliment to her birthday. The l afternoon was spent in cards, after which refreshments were served. Miss Helen Parker of Salt Lake is the guest of Miss Gladys Puncheon. . Zlrs. F. L. Stuart and Mrs. Harry Ro-oey Ro-oey have returned from a visit with friends and relatives at Provo. A' social dance was given Thursday evening by D company of the Second California infantry in honor of the birth-day birth-day anniversary of Mrs. Edwin Scott. Music was furnished by members of the company. Light refreshments were served. Mrs. Charles E. Wild and Mrs. M. Ro-bey Ro-bey of Provo were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robey this week. Miss Gladys Puncheon entertained at a lake party Friday evening in honor of Miss Helen Parker of Salt LaKe. Besides Be-sides Miss Parker and Miss Puncheon were Miss Ruth Evers, Miss Constance Evers, Howard Jeneff, A. C. Lower, I. M. Amerson and Vcrn Janney. After leaving leav-ing Saltair the party motored to Tooele. The ladies of the Relief society were pleasantly entertained Thursday afterr noon by Mrs. W. C. Barton. Dorothy Johnson of Storey City, Iowa, after having spent a few weeks here visiting visit-ing at the homes of her cousins, Mrs. B. M. Ausherman and Mrs. J. T. Booth, left for her home Wednesday. Miss Johnson also visited Mrs. Fred W. Bower in Salt Lake. Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Lee Chesney ' entertained at a Kensington and a pleasant pleas-ant social afternoon was spent in sewing dainty bits of fancy work. Refreshments were served. The many patrons of the Ellison-White Chautauqua are enthusiastic over the programmes pro-grammes given here the past four days. The Junior chautauqua has been both en-tertaining en-tertaining and instructive for the chil- dren and especial appreciation has been shown for the musical concerts.
