Show WRESTLING CWICfkJ 15 A VEKK ffi Earl Caddock Will Attempt to Regain Health at Ther-mopolis Ther-mopolis Springs. OMAHA, Sept. 1. Karl Caddoek, world's champion wrestler, is headed for Tkermopolis Springs, Wyo., for his health. Caddock is reported to be a sick man. His system has becotna infected with poison and he finds it impossible to take on weight. Considerable apprehension appre-hension over the champion's physical welfare is felt in the Caddock camp. Caddock conducted on exceedingly busy wrostling campaign last winter. He ' wrestled in all betwoon October 15 and March 1." probably a score of matches. He followed this with a stiff three weeks of strenuous training pre- paratory to his match with Steelier ' April 9. Then, following his victory oyer Steelier, the champion found himself him-self in such demand that ho wrestled ..j, a match every ten days or two weeks until the hot weather of .luno arrived, ar-rived, when it was noticed that ho bo-gan bo-gan to lose weight and run down generally. gen-erally. Ordered to Rest. This caused a furor in the Caddock I' camp and the champion was immo-diately immo-diately ordered to take a vacation while his managers called off all his matches. It was believed the summer flTJ rest was all that he needed and that ho ; would again be fit as a fiddle when fall rolled around. But. contrary to expectations, Cad- 1 dock failed to gain any weight during J his rest and when he was examined at ' Atlantic, Iowa, for the draft he was refused because poison from his tonsils and bad teeth had polluted his entire system. This gave the Caddock camp more . worry and Karl was immediately packed off for Omaha for a diagnosis. He was given a three-day examination 9"' by Dr. A. Sacks, who is said to have '. found his condition so alarming that he recommended Caddock to consult Dr. Murphy, the famous Chicago specialist spe-cialist and then go to Thcrmopolis Springs for treatment there.' Entire System Tainted. paddock's system has become so tainted by the poison from his tonsils and teeth that he finds it impossible to gain a pound, but on the other hand quite rapidly loses weight, which he cannot regain. It is said ho has become so run down it would be follv for him to attempt a match with a formidable opponent. '. It is hoped, however, in the Caddock Cad-dock camp that the baths and treatment treat-ment at Thermopolis will bring about the desired result and that the champion cham-pion will regain his strength. How long this will take, though, is problematical prob-lematical and it is believed it will be several months, at least, and perhaps , well into the winter before Earl will '.. ' dare attempt a championship match. |
