Show ESTIMATE MADE ON IDAHO FRUIT CROP .Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho, Sept. 1. In an I estimate which has just been made by State Horticultural Inspector Guy Graham, Gra-ham, the Idaho fruit crop for 1017 I? placed at 2250 cars of apples, 100 cars of Italian prunes, 200 cars of peaches, twenty twen-ty cars of pears and fifty cars of melons. This is in addition to an expected output out-put of about 100,000 cases of canned fruits and vegetables. Three large modern evaporating plants have recently been completed, and much of this year's fruit crop will be taken care of nt these plants. If their operation opera-tion proves as successful as now seems probable, several similar plants will be constructed next year on the co-operative plan by various farmers" organizations, as this method of handling the fruit crop will do much in the way of solving the transportation problem, which has been the bane of Idaho fruit growers. |
