Show DGOEN PREPARING TO BAHLEWITH FLOOD Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, March 27. In order to be prepared pre-pared for the spring flood that is almost sure to result with the first warm rain or first few days of high temperature, the commissioners of both, the city and county are taking every possible precaution precau-tion to safeguard property along the Ogden Og-den river. The hanks of tho stream are being strengthened by rip-rapping and every obstruction is being removed. For the past several days the county commissioners have had a gang of men at work along the river in Ogden canyon removing rocks that have lodged In the bed of the stream. Many of these were deposited during the flood'"of 1916, when approximately thirty city blocks were in-! in-! undated. Where the boulders are too ! large to handle in one piece, a charge of giant powder is placed on top of the rock, covered with mud and exploded. The downward force of the blast shat-i shat-i ters the rock. |
