Show MILLER IL NOW TRIM 20HE After more than ft month of struggle with the deadly gases that have poured from the face of the tunnel in the Mllier Hill mine of American Fork canyon, the miners often being able to work In shifts of not more than ten minutes at a time, the gas zone ha9 been passed and there is now no obstacle in the way of pushing development work as rapidly as possible. J. C. Jensen, one of the directors of the company, received information yesterday morning from W. Lester Mangum. general gen-eral manager of the mine, that the big motor and fan, which have been 1 lug at American Fork for weeks owing to the condition of the roads, had been sent up to the mine and would be Installed within with-in two days. Director Jensen also sent out from Salt Iike vesterdav a third shift of miners in order that operations might be pushed with due speed. The tunnel Is now in 1400 feet, and while the formation is still in the quartzite, tho presence of the gases indicates that the miners are under trie Miller oro channel in tho limestone beds above. From the tunnel aji upraise, win be started to reach this ore channel. The main objective of this big tunnel Is the Pacific Assure, which Is between too and 700 feet ahead. With the gases overcome, over-come, the putting on of three shifts and the Installation of the new equipment, there appears a certainty that rapid and satisfactory progress will bo made. |
