Show WOMAN GIVES FIGHT TO ALLEGED ROBBER Mrs. C. "W. Peterson, a waitress employed em-ployed at the Wellington hotel, was rescued res-cued by Patrolmen W. H. Hurst, J. A. Husbands and Walter Griffin last night from Fred Turner, 23 years of age. a J mechanic, who, the police say, attempted j to take her puree on the corner of First West and North Temple streets I late last night. ! Mrs. Peterson was on her way home from work when Turner accosted her and demanded that she give up her purse. When she refused Turner seized her and threw her on the sidewalk and severely beat her, according to the police. She managed to hold on to her purse until the officers, attracted by her screams, went to her rescue and took ! charge of Turner, who was locked up j on a charge of attempted robbery. |
