Show EDUCATIONAL REPORT IS TO BE DIFFERENT Superintendent of Public Instruction Compiling Pamphlet for Next Session of Legislature. When the new biennial report of Dr. E. G. Go wans, state superintendent of public Instruction, is handed to the incoming in-coming legislature, it will be startlingly different in form and content from the previous issue. Dr. Gowans is already at work on the report. In past years the report has been, to" a large extent, a reprint of the catalogue of the state university, the agricultural college, reports of district superintendents and a mass of names and statistics. Moreover, it has been a bulky volume. This year Dr. Gowans aims to' present the school problems and the system of the state In a readable form. It is planned to start the report with a geographical outline of the state as it affects educational problems. This Is to be followed by a description of the educational educa-tional system. Then follow chapters on elementary education, secondary education, educa-tion, the education in the custodial schools and higher education. The training train-ing of teachers is next gone Into, as is i the financial system and similar matters of vital Interest to parents and taxpayers. |
