Organization of a society to he known as the Jordan Mountain Sealers, the meetings of which are to be held once a year on the top of Mt. Jordan, in the Wasatch range, is the outgrowth of a trip to the top of the mountain made last Saturday by a party of school teachers teach-ers of the Jordan district. The society, which is secret in nature, na-ture, may be joined by all who have scaled Mt. Jordan and left records of their trip in the rocks at the summit of the peak, which is nearly 113,000 feet above sea level. Initiations of new members are to be held on the big granite gran-ite rock which caps the peak of the mountain when tho annual meeting of the club is held. The society was organized Saturday, with the following officers: Orson Ryan, superintendent of schools of the Jordan district, president ; O. D. Ballard, vice president; Christine B. Clayton, secretary; sec-retary; Enos Sandberg, treasurer. A committee on monuments and epitaphs was named, as follows: Henry Peterson, Orson Smith and Genovieve Johnson. O. D. Ballard was made poet laureate. There were twenty in the party, which started out Friday night to make the climb. The party camped on the first ridge for the night, had breakfast in the morning on the sides of the peak and lunched on the granite rock which caps the peak. Only eight of the original twenty, however, succeeded in getting to the top, the others falling out along the way from exhaustion.
