Show Miscellany New Coins Works of Art. Weimman, arter several corrections had been made in the submitted model. The design for the quarters was selected from work entered by Herman A. McMeal. The design for the half-dollars is a Uglier type of art than that used upon those now in circulation. -The markings mark-ings are not so prominentlv cut and the coin has a much .smoother appearance. n one side of the coin is the figure of the Goddess of Liberty holding in one arm a hunch of olive branches. Above the figure are. the words. "In Oil we trust'; below It is tho word "Libert v." On the opposite side of the coin there is a spread eagle, grasping an oak twig It. Ins talons as he stands upon a rock. At the top is printed "The United States of America. 1 and at the bottom "Hall Dollar. ' .J11", f!me. is of a sharper cut. On one side Is the head of a Grecian woman, overbite head is printed the word "Liberty "Lib-erty and on the lower left-hand corner the date. The obverse side of the coin has a bundle of Roman fasces tied llghtlv together with an ax and a strong oak stick. Below the cutting Is the Liitln quotation. "10 plurlbus unum." One side of the quarter has the full-length full-length figure of a woman coming through a gate in a wall. On the opposite side Is pictured an eagle In flight.
