Show FMEN WILL GIVE EXHIBITION AT FAIR Modern Apparatus to Be Employed in Educational Drills of Department. Kire 'hief Bvwater' was invited to meet with the executive committee of the hoard of directors of the state fair association at luncheon at the Alta club, and was invited to stage at the fair grounds each night from September Septem-ber 'Si) to October 7 a spectacular exhibition exhi-bition of fire fighting. Chief Bvwater accepted the invitation invita-tion anil announced that his nieu would put up an exhibilion in life-saving drill that will include the ascent of a llame-wrapped llame-wrapped tower with pompier ladders, jumps from the top or the eighty-foot extension ladder into a fireman life net, and hazardous descents from the top of the tower. Tho latter spectacle will include firemen descending the rope head downward, and picking comrades out of windows on the, way down and carrying them pafely to the ground. It" is expected that the exhibition of Chief Byw'ater's men will prove, one of the most interesting free attractions at the fair grounds this year. The executive committee of the state fair closed up a large number of details incident to the arrangements of the coming fair. Arrangements were-- made yesterday for the music at this year's state fair, and there will be band music all over the grounds every afternoon and night. One of the most important decisions made vnslerday hy the directors was for the holding of a military day at the fair grounds on a day to be decided upon immediately. Last year the Salt Lake High School cadets paraded in dress uniform in front of the grand stand before thousands thou-sands of spectators, including Governor Spry and his staff. The cadets made so good an impression and created so much enthusiasm that the directors have decided de-cided to go somewhat further this year and call the day on which the cadets parade ' ' Military day. 1 ' |
