Show PARK SPEEDER PAYS $40 INTO TREASURY R. B. Rankin, who drove his auto through Liberty park at forty miles or more per hour on the evening of July 2, paid $40 into the city treasury yesterday yester-day afternoon for j(is experience in this line of pleasure. He pleaded guilty when arraigned before Judge E. A. Rogers Rog-ers in the criminal division of the city court. In passing sentence Judge Rogers Rog-ers called specific attention to the fact that the speed limit in Liberty park was fixed by law at fifteen miles an hour and the very nature of the place made it essential that inore than ordinary ordi-nary precaution be observed in the driving driv-ing of autos there. This was by no means all of the revenue reve-nue the city derived from violations of the traffic ordinances. Al Mayers paid a fine of $15 for riding his motorcycle through the middle driveway of Liberty park at the rate of thirty miles an hour. Three persons who failed to regard the signals of the traffic officers were assessed as-sessed $5 each. |
