A wireless dispatch from Borne says word has been received there from Petrograd that in consequence of their triple defeat in the sectors of Kiga, Kolki and Baranovichi, the Germans have begun to move their whole front toward the west. Following effective effect-ive artillery preparation the Russians have launched a mighty offensive against the German front from Kiga to Baranovichi. Petrograd officially announces that first lino trenches have been wrested from the Germans south of Lake Narocz, to the east of Vilna, in fierce bayonet attacks. Vienna also reports the violent righting right-ing in the north, while the Berlin war office admits the Germans have been forced to abandon their positions in the salient at O.artorysk.
